BMX Speed Magazine (1983 - 1986)

BMX Speed Magazin (1983 - 1986)

After the BMX Special was demoted back to a supplement of the magazine "Motocross Enduro" in autumn 1983, the founding team of the Special decided to leave the magazine and found their own magazine under the name "Speed Jump". The addition "Jump" was dropped after the second issue and Rolf-D. Meißner (RIP), the then editor-in-chief of "Special", joined the team from issue 8/1984 after his magazine was discontinued. Speed was initially self-published and then, from mid-1984, published by the Hanover-based publishing house "Moderne Media" and "Art Media". The last issue was published in January 1986, when the editors once again became publishers themselves and renamed the magazine BMX Sport.
